PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 6, 2012- Nicira, Inc., the network virtualization company, today announced that one of its customers, eBay, is running Nicira’s Network Virtualization Platform (NVP) in a production OpenStack environment to rapidly test and deploy new Web applications. eBay uses NVP to provide on-demand network resources to hundreds of projects central to the company’s Web products and services. The full-scale production cloud has been live for several months and is growing quickly.
